The Man (#5)

I was hesitant about having another guitarist for my coveted, "the man" series. But, after much deliberation, I decided that there was no getting around it, for, Jake Cinninger really is the man. As the guitarist for Umphrey's McGee, Jake is the driving force behind their signature sound and I don't believe it would be going too far to say that Jake is the best guitarist on the scene right now. Not only is he an amazing guitarist, but he is great at drums and piano and bass as well, a real multi-faceted kind of dude. In addition, he is one of the funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, he will always indulge me in a late-night sing-along of "Let it Bleed," and he is the only person I've ever known who has written a song about me.

For all of these reasons (and many others that I won't bother getting in to), Jake Cinninger is THE MAN! You will always and forever be my #1...

Damn you Monks-was it really neccesary for you to blow up my K-Dubbs spot like that? He is indeed the man, but I felt like posting about Cinninger first, for I was thinking about him last night. As for the drummer thing, I am going to have to ask you where that whole statement comes from, for I do not remember making it. I did make a comment about drummers and their, ahem, endowment, but I believe thats it. Can you please clarify???

One could look at this post as a challenge for more people to write songs about the Rook. Wouldn't that be an interesting concept album. I'll get my best people on it.

P.S. I know you think Jake is the man too... What gives there? I thought you would have given me props.

YAH FOR FINK!! More people should be writing songs about me. Jake's song was something along the lines of, "she likes to drink", and it went on from there. I do think it would be an interesting concept album though---GET ON IT! One suggestion-I think one of the songs should be writen entirely in Haiku form-whadya think?

    Haiku for the words?
Love it, let's make it happen
    Rhymes are optional.

    I'll be back later
    after gold tequila shots
    trying to build a Rook.
